Feminist Degrades Stay-at-Home Mothers
Jill Filipovic, a feminist author and attorney, recently declared that stay-at-home mothers set poor examples for children, the Daily Wire reported. Filipovic said that she would not want to be married to a stay-at-home spouse. (Conservative Christian women and Filipovic are in agreement on that.) She said that if she decided to stay at home, she would have no right to use her husband’s income. She also claimed that stay-at-home mothers were unambitious and too dependent on their spouses.
After receiving pushback and criticism, Filipovic tried to say that she does actually value the work full time mothers do. Regardless, she still held that women should work outside of the home. Being a stay-at-home mother, she said, means “your husband is your boss and there is no HR department.”
When all else failed, Filipovic pulled a favorite stunt of Left-leaning people: she blamed capitalism. Because of “our capitalist society,” full time mothers are stuck subject to the patriarchy. She then said that having the choice to stay home full time or to pursue work is not a victory for women because the decision must take into account other family members ideas and perspectives.
Finally, she insinuated that stay-at-home mothers are self-centered. “[I]t’s very inward-looking and wrapping one’s identity in one’s progeny. If you have a passion for child development, great, there are many paths to walk down that do a lot of good for lots of people.”
This is to be expected from those who have an unbiblical view of humanity and gender.
