Mask mandates and business restrictions are ending at a statewide level in Texas. On Texas Independence Day, March 2nd, 2021, Texas Governor Abbott announced that Texas he would rescind his statewide mask mandate and business occupancy restrictions. There has been considerable disagreement and debate regarding the legality and appropriateness of mask mandates in response to the pandemic.
