The Legalization of Child Abuse: Childhood Transgenderism
“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea” (Matthew 18:6).
This is the stern warning from Jesus concerning the punishment for leading young and impressionable children away from God’s truth (considering millstones weighed hundreds of pounds), and toward the road of worldliness, sin, and destruction. This explicit warning has been audaciously rejected by the world since Jesus first spoke those words in the 1st century,, and by the looks of the headlines today, we see that His warning continues to be disregarded, particularly on the issue of childhood transgenderism.
On October 21st, a Dallas, TX jury shockingly ruled against the pleadings of Jeffrey Younger to save his seven-year-old son, James, from his ex-wife’s horrific desire to chemically castrate their son in an attempt to force James to transition into “Luna.” However, due to the massive outcry from conservatives, high profile leaders, politicians, and news outlets, the judge’s official ruling on Wednesday was that James’s father will, in fact, have a say over all of James’ medical decisions. If not for the objection from so many, the horrific act of child sterilization, an act that somehow many find to be moral, may have been allowed to take place. What does this say about our culture and where our society is headed?
How the castration of a child is even legal is a testament to the total depravity Scripture says we experience due to original sin. Legislation must be put in place to prevent any possibility of permanently scarring an innocent child. Even if both parents agreed to transition a child into a new, imaginative gender, what right do parents have in abusing their children in this manner? This shouldn’t be an option for the parents to make, much less anyone else.
Experts agree that the gender transition of a child is nothing more than child abuse . Dr. Cretella, the executive director of the American College of Pediatricians, says, “While the transition-affirming movement purports to help children, it is inflicting a grave injustice on them…These harms constitute nothing less than institutionalized child abuse.” This is clearly wrong on all levels and in every way; wrong medically, and more importantly, wrong in the eyes of God (Deuteronomy 22:5).
Although the judge ruled in a different manner, the original abhorrent ruling by the jury which had the consensus of 11 of the 12 jurors, is a lamentable reflection and indication of the direction our society is quickly heading; where children are seized from their parents if they do not concede and comply with their child’s or societies requests. This mindset reveals the potentially dangerous new standard which threatens and demonizes those who raise their children with an orthodox understanding of the Word of God and those with even a basic understanding of biology and gender, labeling and treating them as criminals.
The LGBTQ+ crowd is pushing for laws and regulations that come into direct conflict with the teachings found in Scripture and if we don’t fight these anti-Christian laws now, we may find ourselves like other countries that are setting up radical liberal laws and removing children from parents who don’t share in progressive ideology.
If liberal policies go unchecked, parents will be left with two options; either obey the laws of man and travel the road of least resistance (which will only get more radical over time if progressives gain enough influential positions) or heed the warning of our Lord and Savior, by fighting any proposed malicious laws and accepting the costs of following the King of Kings. As His true followers, we must resist the world’s damning influence and stand against the society's brainwashing abuse of the most innocent of groups, children.
